Chiropractic Treatments - Different Techniques
There are many different techniques that a chiropractor can use to treat a patient. The similarity between these different techniques is that the chiropractor uses his hands to make a correction, some may call this a manipulation.
Therapy
When the chiropractor makes a correction, the areas of the spine are treated where an abnormality (blockage) has been detected. Pressure is exerted on the joint with the hands and this restores the freedom of movement of the joint.
Cracking sound
During this correction, the patient sometimes hears a cracking sound. This crack is a result of an air bubble formation in the joint, which is released by the pressure applied to it and this causes the sound. So they are not bones that rub against each other or tendons that break. The tendons are also not overstretched. Chiropractic has been proven to be one of the safest methods of treatment in the world.
